Our Mission & Vision

Mission

Our purpose here at Circle of Faith Ministries Community Church is to be a dynamic spirit filled church, empowered by the Holy Spirit to preach, teach and share Christ to those in our church, community and throughout the world, teaching them to be disciples of Jesus Christ and to come together on one accord to worship God and to fellowship one with another

In looking at society and the church, we see a lot of lukewarm, hurting and sick people – People who are uneducated to the word of God.  Hosea 4:6 states, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…”

Vision

The vision of the Circle of Faith Ministries Community Church is to preach and teach the Word of God with wisdom and understanding.  We believe that once the Word has been taught, lives will be changed and men, women, boys and girls will be set free.  Matthew 24:4-5 states, “And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.  For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ, and shall deceive many.”

We believe in St.John 8:32 and 36 which states, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.  If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”  Therefore, by your freedom and anointing in your life, others will be drawn to Christ.

Church History

In March 1990, Johnny Wells and Joseph I. McRoy, Sr. received the calling to start a new ministry, Circle of Faith Ministries.  On March 25, 1990, the church was officially started with nine members, and the first service was held in the training room of the Rainbow Sales office located at 5810 Macy Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida.  One month later, the church relocated at 7440 Merrill Road in the Walter Williams Real Estate Office Complex.  On April 2, 1990, the church was registered with the State of Florida as a corporation.  The Executive Officers were listed as follows:  Pastor Joseph I. McRoy, Sr., President; Pastor Johnny Wells, Vice President; Linda McRoy, Secretary; Marilyn Wells, Treasurer.

In 1993, the church moved to 1432 Rogero Road into an office building owned by Dan Jones & Associates.  Services were held at this location until September, 1999.  The Pastors remained faithful in the preaching and teaching of the Word of God; however, their vision was that the church would one day purchase its own property. One day, God directed the Pastors to a “For Sale” sign on an old run down building located at 6360 Commerce Street.  After negotiations with the owner, the church agreed to purchase the property.  Although at that time the building was old and needed major repairs, Pastor McRoy and Pastor Wells remained steadfast in their faith, believing in Hebrews 11:1,

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

Even though there were many obstacles and it took a lot of hard work, the dream became a reality.  The building was completely renovated and on Sunday, September 19, 1999, the first service was held in the new sanctuary.    Since that time, God has continued to extend our borders.  In 2002, the church purchased the lot located directly behind the current sanctuary.  Also, in December 2005, two additional buildings were purchased from Arlington Presbyterian Church and are being used as the church Educational Building and Multi-Purpose Center.  Many souls have been saved and lives changed through this ministry, and we give God all of the Glory, Honor and Praise for what He has done!
